Oh dear-now the time I spend duck duck going what to wear over 50 will be vastly expanded. Love your red sandals! I bought a few things from Thredup - they have Banana Republic - and was really happy. I just bought a white tiered long skirt in poplin from Quince and a white linen long sleeved loose fitting shirt from BR. feel guilty about Quince - fast fashion. Happy shopping - certainly good to do while laid up.
Being Of A Certain Age now, I find a) a lot of fashion looks ridiculous to me and on me, and b) I'm unwilling to pay $$$$ to look or feel humiliated. I am wearing a lot of Land's End these days. Fits the bod and the budget.
That's me. I find a Land's End piece I like, I buy at least in 3 different colors for variety. I like to match, so this means these colors in tops, pants, tunics. Comfortable, easy to wash, and since all my social activity is on phone and zoom, nobody really knows how truly boring I am!
This is such a good system, but I can never implement it because I get bored. Though I’ve only been wearing giant t shirts and pull-on pants for the past six weeks, I’m not, at heart, a minimalist.
“My own love for fashion is somewhat constrained by not having the body for it. Or the wallet.”
Ditto for me… but we try ….🤭
Oh, you mentioned ME!! I’m so immensely honoured, thank you!🙏
I’m way more interested in the people who are more creative with their clothes, as most trends bore me (as do all those “essentials”).
I miss magazines! Fashion Substack is a pretty solid substitute though!💕

Thank you SO much for the shout out!! Means the world. And I agree!! Substack feels like the glory days of print fashion magazines in many ways!!
Thank you so much for the shout out and I’m glad your shoulder is healing. I miss the muggy heat of the Hudson Valley!
I am so flattered that you enjoy my content; genuinely, thank you so much.
Remember Mademoiselle magazine from the 70s and 80s?
Yes!

I’m getting very curmudgeonly about clothes these days. Nothing that is out there now calls to me, except for the costume design of the TV show Andor.
I would like to dress like Mon Mothma! Not that my lifestyle requires it
I will buy clothing anywhere I can find it!
